    Hi,

I’m not sure if your device would be suitable. Essentially I am trying to remove points of failure between our monitoring system and our alerting system. With that in mind we are looking for a device that we can plug into both a network port on our LAN and also a usb/serial port on a windows server. The device would receive sms to transmit from both the network and the server (we are happy to install software onto the server).

The server will be Microsoft windows server 2008 r2 with Microsoft SCOM installed onto it. This will monitor and generate alerts for our corporate and network devices via usb/serial connection. We don’t want this to send sms via email as this incorporates multiple points of failure if the network or email server goes down we don’t get alerts.

Other devices on the network will though utilise smtp to sms for generating alerts – hence having the network connectivity too.

    Does OutboxSMS meet these requirements?

    Michael

OutboxSMS does not provide the facility to communicate via USB.

The box can support dual ethernet connections though, and the units can operate in a cluster. So you can configure the system to have up to 4 OutboxSMS load sharing and redundant cluster over a dual redundant LAN.
